The Alberta Nanotechnology Symposium will be a two-day event co-hosted by the University of Alberta and University of Calgary nanoGroups. This event will be geared toward sharing knowledge, as well as to promote the development of new collaborations with experts in the field. This years nano symposium will follow the theme of the International Year of Light (IYL)."The International Year of Light is a global initiative which will highlight to the citizens of the world the importance of light and optical technologies in their lives, for their futures, and for the development of society. It is an unique opportunity to inspire, educate, and connect on a global scale."

Undergraduate students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, and faculty across Alberta will be invited to share their research in nanotechnology through oral and poster presentations. This will provide an opportunity to enhance knowledge in nanotechnology and will facilitate an environment conducive for collaboration. 

Registration and Abstract Submission: 

Abstract length should not exceed 300 words and should be pasted directly in a text box during registration by February 20, 2015. 

Please indicate whether oral or poster presentation is preferred. 

Oral presentations are 15 minutes long with a 5 minute question period. Invited talks are 25 minutes long with a 5 minute question period. 

The poster boards are 6 ft (1.8 m) by 4 ft (1.2 m) in landscape orientation. Please ensure that the dimensions of your poster are smaller than the dimensions of the poster board. 

Registration fee (until February 20, 2015) - $55. Once your abstract is accepted, a payment invitation will be sent to you. 

Includes meals, and accommodation at the Banff Conference Center.
